Hey, guys!. Here are some useful tips or things that you should know before coming to Bali, especially for the first trip. Of course, to avoid experiencing classic mistakes. Available in two languages.

travel to bali

Maybe, these are quite easy to follow, but when added together it's gonna make a huge difference to your first experience of Bali.

1. Sampai di Bali /Getting to Bali

  • Visa. Warga dari 169 negara boleh mengunjungi Bali dengan bebas visa (selama 30 hari), sedangkan visa kedatangan berlaku untuk sekali, biasanya 35 dolar (dapat diperpanjang sesekali) /Nationals of 169 countries can visit bali-visa-free (for 30 days), while Visa on Arrival applies for others at USD 35 (extendable once). More information, visit here
  • Cuaca. Musim hujan; Oktober- April, Musim kemarau; Mei - September (waktu terbaik untuk berkunjung) /Weather. Wet season; October to April, Dry season; May to September (best time to visit)
  • Hari spesial. /Special day. No travel during Saka New Year (Nyepi), usually coincides March-specific dates vary every year.
Pengalaman penulis;
My experienced on March, 2018 (first time); Saka New year so creepy, around 12 hours no lamp, started on evening until the next morning. And at that time i was with my friend, and he was breathless without an AC.
  • Dimulai bulan Mei banyak orang bermain layang - layang, jadi jangan heran kalau langit Bali penuh dengan layangan. /Started on May, many people play kites, so don't be surprised if Bali's sky is full of kites.
Okay, continue about visiting tips;
2. Akomodasi /Accommodation
/no need for a hostel in bali, i guess. Although, there are plenty to choose from if you prefer, because a private villas can be found as low as 11 USD or around 150,000,00 rupiahs.
3. Transportasi /Transportation
Pengalaman saya pribadi, rental motor /hari kisaran 30-50 ribu. /In my opinion, Taxis are most expensive transports in Bali or around here. Renting a motorbike is the best way, because it's slightly cheap. You can hire it ($3-$5 USD)/ day. And if you don't feel comfortable driving by yourself you can use GRAB  or Go-Jek plus if you are traveling with family you can hire a car (try to find out about rental car), usually started (around $40-$50 USD /day), for the minimum price. lol
  • Getting Around!, we are driving on the right
  • You need International drivers' license required to drive and rent cars and motorbikes. Okay!

4. Makanan /Meals
/For you guys, Here hotels are insanely expensive in Bali (i meant), maybe the cuisine would make it worth the visit. Mouthwatering dishes, i.e., grilled pork, martabak pancakes, and spicy noodle soup are abound. Local food and street food can be as cheap as $1 USD - you will have a plateful of chicken, rice and veggies might only set you back about $1.50 USD. Also, you can try Nasi Jingo (less than $1 USD).
5. Etiquette /Etiket
  • Ancient Bali temples dot the highlands and coast. Some of them have become island's most iconic landmark.They feature magnificent centuries-old architecture. Great for photos, they're usually set against exotic backdrops. Best is to witness them during temple anniversaries. Such events occur twice a Gregorian year, since dates are based on a local 210-day calendar. On any other day, these temples are great places to visit at least once during your time in Bali. Each temple is unique. Try the Besakih ‘mother temple’ against the cloudy peaks of Mount Agung. Or, the mysterious ruins of Goa Gajah near Ubud. The golden sunsets and silhouettes of Uluwatu and Tanah Lot are also magical. Remember to wear proper attire on any Bali temple visit. A sarong and sash are mostly provided 'for rent' at all sites.
Satu lagi, tapi berisi beberapa ide, :D /one more
  • Staying safe and connected. Tap water is not potable. Ice in drinks at hotel and restaurant are usually safe (on the street also it's okay),
  • This one is more dangerous. read carefully, plz. The penalty for drug is death. You must take it seriously.
  • For emergencies, dial 110 for police and 118 for ambulance.
  • Electrical plugs are two-pronged. If i don't wrong 220 Volts, 50 Hz.
  • SIM cards are widely available at kiosks and convenient stores; most are mobile internet-ready. Verify SIM and micro-SIM factors upon purchasing.
